The company was founded by Larry Lavine in 1975 in Dallas, Texas. At first, the menu consisted of a hamburger range at affordable prices. By the 1980s, they had 28 locations in a nearby area. After some time, Larry sold the company to Norman Brinker. He added multiple dishes to their main menu and a special allergen menu to cater to a wide range of locals.
